Happy 1st Birthday Kaylie!

Helping Daddy!
Our little girl is no longer a baby (although she will always be our baby) and is now a toddler...scary huh? I will do the quick updates today and then next week I will get her birthday party photos up. We are very excited for this party, to celebrate our wonderful daughter and to celebrate that we made it. It has been a wonderful, but as many other parents know that first year can be rough. It was an adjustment for both Zach and I, but Kaylie is a wonderful little girl and we couldn't ask for a better daughter!

Movement: Oh my god, this child can move! She is all over the place and she is getting more mobile day after day. She can officially stand on her own, but she only seems to do it when she has something in her hands. Not sure why, but we go with it. She has also officially taken her first steps, again she must have something in her hands. I guess she needs the security?!? I'm sure by next month she will be running around everywhere and making this mommy very tired :)

Eating: She is still a wonderful eater, only eating table food at our house and today she got to try table food at Daycare. She usually has breakfast of 4 oz. of formula and a breakfast bar, then has lunch with 4 oz. of formula, then a snack around 2 or 3 with 4 oz. of formula and then dinner with 4 oz of formula. At night we are still giving her a bottle, but she usually only eats about 2 oz and is out. I know I will start working on taking that away!

Teeth:We are happy to day that Kaylie is finally getting her first tooth!! We noticed two weeks ago when I was about to take her in to check her ears that she was cranky. We thought she got her ear infection back, but we have come to find out that she was getting a tooth. Pretty exciting!

Painting with Mommy
Sleep: She is sleeping great! Don't want to Jinx myself though. She usually goes to bed at about 8:30 p.m. but we are trying to push that up to 8:00 p.m. so she gets more sleep. She is a growing little girl that needs that sleep. If Kaylie hasn't napped really well on a day she will be put to sleep early at 7:30 p.m. We try not to do that too much because Daddy likes to have his time with his little girl.

Voice: You can't understand much that she is saying but she is either talking, screaming (happy though), or singing. Her favorite times to sing are in the car or in church. She does get mad when they stop singing at church which is very funny. She loves to scream but it usually isn't a mad scream, right now it is her way of telling you she is happy or excited, and sometimes it is to tell you she is upset or needs help. She is starting to communicate with me at least.
Climbing

Favorites: Her dog and my parents dog Rocky. If you ask her where they are she will sometimes point to them. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, I promise I don't let her watch much TV but when I need to get a shower in, it is my best bet. We have a few on our DVR and we have some DVDs now. She also will point at something if it has Mickey or Minnie. Climbing is another of her favorite things, you have to watch her very carefully.

Diapers/Clothes Size: Clothes she is wearing 12 mo. or 18 mo. shirts and 12 mo. pants. Diapers we are still in size 3 all the time.

Nicknames: Pebbles (we can wear a pony tail now, but we look like Pebbles from the Flintstones), Bug-a-Boo, Miss Kaylie

This year has been a blessing with our little one in our lives. She keeps us moving and laughing all the time. I will posted photos from the party next week.

A Week in Kaylie & Mommy's Life 3-11 to 3-17

I haven't done this in a while so I thought I would do a week in the life of Kaylie and Mommy.

Sunday, March 11th, we hung out at Grandma & Grandpa Boe's with my cousins, Katelyn, Elizabeth & Luke. We played outside since it was such a nice day out; we tried out the swing, but hated it. Which was weird because in the fall we loved going to the park and swinging. Then mommy and I went to Target and Walmart to look at new stuff for my new bedroom that I will be getting later this year. It was fun; I always love to go shopping!

Monday, March 12th, I went to daycare for most of the day while mommy went to work. I like daycare because I have lots of friends to play with. In a couple weeks, I will be making the big change to a new room and mommy is a little nervous about that one. Mommy got off early to take me to the Doctors because they needed to check if I had an ear infection again, nothing I was cleared! Yippy! Also, that night I helped daddy back the car out of the garage so he could work in the garage on something.

Tuesday, March 13th, we went to Grandma Boe's so mommy go clean and we could go grocery shopping. After spending some time with Grandma we went back home to play in the beautiful weather and I also could a nap in the car that afternoon because I was very tired.
Wednesday, March 14th, mommy worked a part day while I went to daycare. Then we came home and enjoyed this beautiful weather. We played in the front yard with Sadie and I got to ride my new car I got for Christmas from Grandma & Grandpa Everman. It was lots of fun.

Thursday, March 15th, mommy was home with me again on Thursday and we decided we needed to try a craft. I got to paint my first picture, mommy was going to have me finger paint at first but then decided to give me a paint brush. It was a lot of fun and mommy hung my pretty photo on the fridge so everyone can see it. Mommy and daddy also decided to buy me one last gift for my birthday and give it to me a week early. It was a new wagon to go on walks with mommy, daddy and Sadie. I love it and I got to help daddy put it together.

Friday, March 16th, mommy went to work for part of the day again and I was at daycare. Then we went to Grandma & Grandpa Boe's because we were going to dinner with them. So we went on a little walk with Grandma around the block and went to play on the swing set. I love the slide, but still not a fan of the swings. I got to play in the grass for the first time, but I wasn't very sure about it. Mommy and Grandma thought it was pretty fun to watch. We then went to dinner at Red Lobster and I got Mac & Cheese...yummy, my favorite! Once daddy got home we decided to make a late night trip to Walmart and he let me play the car game with him. I am pretty good...must take after mommy! Ha Ha!

Saturday, March 17th, it was St. Patty's Day, so I had my green on! I thought I was pretty cute!!! Mommy & daddy's friends Reese and Carrie came up for the day to bring me my awesome birthday present! We did some 1 year photos in the morning, that I was naughty for. We then ate at Pump Haus for lunch and stopped at Scratch for a yummy cupcake. After daddy going to work for a little bit, we all went on a nice walk by the river. When we got back, Uncle Chris was there to grill out. Aunt Jo & Uncle Andrew came by to eat with us too. I had BBQ chicken & fruit, it was tasty...thanks daddy.

Mommy and I had a great week and I really hope you did too. I will be one busy little big girl this week. I will turn 1 on Thursday so there is a lot of planning to be done before my big 1st birthday party this Sunday and we also have a family wedding on Saturday. Until next time.
Love
Kaylie

11 Months Old...One More Month and we will have a Toddler!

Well Kaylie is taking a nap so I will try to get this started since I didn't do it yesterday:

Movement: Still not walking without help yet, but she is getting closer to standing on her own. She also loves to walk everywhere which can make a trip a little longer than normal. She is very good at walking and pushing something so she will get there soon I'm sure. Kaylie also has found that climbing is lots of fun which is hard because we want her to explore, but not take a huge fall too. Oh the Joys of parenting!

We started swimming lessons this month and
she is the youngest in her class, but she loves it!

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

We can't believe it is 10 Months already!

Movement: Kaylie is always on the move; and she is quite quick. The other day I was vacuuming in the sun room and she was playing in the living room; next thing I knew she was behind me. She is walking around the furniture more and more and she loves walking behind her walker. Still waiting on those first steps, but I'm sure after the first ones she will be running in no time.

Eating: Breakfast (7:30-8:00a) 1 tub of fruit, oatmeal, 4 oz. bottle, Lunch (11:30a-12p) 1 tub of veggies, rice cereal, 4 oz. bottle, Snack (2-2:30p) 4 oz bottle, puffs, Dinner (5:30-6p) 1 tub of meats (or whatever we are eating), 4 oz bottle, Nighttime (8-15p) 6 oz. bottle

Teeth: No Teeth and she isn't drooling as much so we are now not expecting any soon.

Taking her pants of & wearing her "cape"
Sleep: She is pretty much sleeping 8:30p-7:00a. She will some time get up and cry for a little while at night, but she is definitely better at sleeping through the night.

Voice: Some days she is chatting non stop and others she is very quiet. We are starting to hear sounds that sound like words. She is starting to communiate in her own way and it is fun to figure out what she is wanting. She has also figured out that shaking her head "yes" and "no" is lots of fun.

Playing peek-a-boo

Favorites: Her newest favorite is the sound system, which we hate. She loves to push the buttons and turn the knob for the volume;which can make it hard to watch TV at times. She pretty much loves everything that she isn't suppose to get into. She loves to hear the word "no" it seems. It is starting to get to the point that we have to figure something out because she doesn't listen the best right now. She just thinks she is cute and continues to do it. Too bad she knows she is cute! :) Kaylie also loves to put everything on her head to play peak-a-boo, but she gets mad is she gets stuck. Also, she loves to take her pants & socks off whenever she can.

Diaper/Clothes Size: Kaylie is now in size 3 diapers all the time, she can still fit into the size 2, but it was getting close. Her clothes are 9 month or 12 month; some of the 9 month are getting too small, but the 12 month are a little bit big yet.

Nicknames: Miss Kaylie & Bug-a-Boo
