Happy 1st Birthday Kaylie!

Helping Daddy!
Our little girl is no longer a baby (although she will always be our baby) and is now a toddler...scary huh? I will do the quick updates today and then next week I will get her birthday party photos up. We are very excited for this party, to celebrate our wonderful daughter and to celebrate that we made it. It has been a wonderful, but as many other parents know that first year can be rough. It was an adjustment for both Zach and I, but Kaylie is a wonderful little girl and we couldn't ask for a better daughter!

Movement: Oh my god, this child can move! She is all over the place and she is getting more mobile day after day. She can officially stand on her own, but she only seems to do it when she has something in her hands. Not sure why, but we go with it. She has also officially taken her first steps, again she must have something in her hands. I guess she needs the security?!? I'm sure by next month she will be running around everywhere and making this mommy very tired :)

Eating: She is still a wonderful eater, only eating table food at our house and today she got to try table food at Daycare. She usually has breakfast of 4 oz. of formula and a breakfast bar, then has lunch with 4 oz. of formula, then a snack around 2 or 3 with 4 oz. of formula and then dinner with 4 oz of formula. At night we are still giving her a bottle, but she usually only eats about 2 oz and is out. I know I will start working on taking that away!

Teeth:We are happy to day that Kaylie is finally getting her first tooth!! We noticed two weeks ago when I was about to take her in to check her ears that she was cranky. We thought she got her ear infection back, but we have come to find out that she was getting a tooth. Pretty exciting!

Sleep: She is sleeping great! Don't want to Jinx myself though. She usually goes to bed at about 8:30 p.m. but we are trying to push that up to 8:00 p.m. so she gets more sleep. She is a growing little girl that needs that sleep. If Kaylie hasn't napped really well on a day she will be put to sleep early at 7:30 p.m. We try not to do that too much because Daddy likes to have his time with his little girl.

Voice: You can't understand much that she is saying but she is either talking, screaming (happy though), or singing. Her favorite times to sing are in the car or in church. She does get mad when they stop singing at church which is very funny. She loves to scream but it usually isn't a mad scream, right now it is her way of telling you she is happy or excited, and sometimes it is to tell you she is upset or needs help. She is starting to communicate with me at least.
Climbing

Favorites: Her dog and my parents dog Rocky. If you ask her where they are she will sometimes point to them. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, I promise I don't let her watch much TV but when I need to get a shower in, it is my best bet. We have a few on our DVR and we have some DVDs now. She also will point at something if it has Mickey or Minnie. Climbing is another of her favorite things, you have to watch her very carefully.

Diapers/Clothes Size: Clothes she is wearing 12 mo. or 18 mo. shirts and 12 mo. pants. Diapers we are still in size 3 all the time.

Nicknames: Pebbles (we can wear a pony tail now, but we look like Pebbles from the Flintstones), Bug-a-Boo, Miss Kaylie

This year has been a blessing with our little one in our lives. She keeps us moving and laughing all the time. I will posted photos from the party next week.
