9 Months Old...3 Months to Go!

Movement: Kaylie is moving everywhere; right now the Christmas tree and presents are her favorite thing to go to. The more she moves the more she gets into trouble. She is starting to walk around the furniture and she loves to hold onto your hands and walk around the house. I think she will be walking and standing alone very soon.

Eating: She is eating 22 - 24 ounces of milk, 1 serving of fruit, 1 serving of grain, 1 serving of veggies, and 1 serving of meat every day now. She eats table food whenever we can and she loves it. We have found that she would rather eat real green beans than the green bean baby food. I guess I can't blame her on that one.

Teeth: Still no teeth, but we think she should get one soon. The doctor today even said that he figured she probably was teething.

Sleep: Kaylie is sleeping great again. We think that the cry method seemed to have worked for her. She has gotten really good at putting herself back to sleep.

Voice: She loves to talk which is a lot of fun to listen to. We usually have no idea what she is saying unless it is "DaDa." I think she says it all the time because she loves him so much!

Favorites: One of her favorite things right now is her pony. She gets on it and starts rocking back and forth. It is pretty funny! Her puppy is another one of her favorite things; she is always laughing at her. She loves to watch her run around the house. She loves to help her mommy, the other day she was helping "lots" in kitchen.

Diaper/Clothes Size: Size 2 in Day/Size 3 in Night and she is just starting to get into 9 month clothes.

Weight/Length: 16 pounds 12 ounces (15% percentile) 28.25 inches (74% percentile)

Nicknames: Miss Kaylie, Bug-a-Boo

8 Months Old already!

Okay with Thanksgiving it took me a long time to get around to this post:

Movement: Oh my godness, do we move now! We are officially crawling now. She crawls everywhere especially to places that she can pull herself up on. She loves to stands or crawl; she doesn't sit still very well at all.

Eating: She usually has five 6 oz. bottles a day, at 7 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., & 8:00 p.m. She also has a half a tub of fruit & cereal at like 11:00 a.m and a half of tub of veggies in the afternoon at 1:00 p.m. or so. She then usually has table food at dinner time with us. She would definately perfer table food than baby food. She ate a lot of her Thanksgiving dinner. She loves green bean casserole, but we think that the Cream of Mushroom didn't sit very well with her stomach because she spit up quite a bit that day. The other day she had tater tots, green beans & corn and she loved them all. We haven't found anything that she doesn't like yet.

Teeth: No Teeth Yet!

Sleep: Sleep has been a little rough. We are finally trying the cry out method and it seemed to help at night. Monday night she cried for 45 minutes, but Tuesday & Wednesday it was only a few minutes. Naps are still rough, she doesn't really nap at daycare and when mommy tries she cries a lot. Hopefully it will get better :)

Voice: She still loves the sound of her voice. "Da da " is her favorite thing to say. I think she is starting to understand what she is saying. When she says it to me I am always correcting her by saying, "No I'm Ma Ma." She looks at me and smiles, pretty sure she knows that she is calling me the wrong name and she finds it funny. We both think the other day that she said "All Done." Don't know seems a little crazy, but we both thought we heard it. I think she is starting to say "Ba Ba" now. Not sure what it is for, maybe that is what she is going to call me now. Ha Ha.

Favorites: Her daddy is one of her favorites, she seems to enjoy playing with him and she gets really excited when he comes home. I have to say that I love to watch the two of them interact. Standing is her favorite right now, she stands on everything even when we don't want her to. I hate when she stands on chairs because it would be her luck that it would tip on her.

Diaper Size: Still 2 Diapers during the day & 3 at night

Clothes Size: She can still fit into most of her 6 month outfits, but we are starting to put them away and get her into 9 month. I figured it makes more sense for her to be in 9 months when she is 8 months old!

Halloween/Family Vacation

Well it has been awhile so I thought I would tell you about our first official family vacation and our baby girl's first Halloween.

We decided this summer that Kaylie was too little to do a family vacation so we decided to wait and go this fall. My sister Melissa asked us to join them in going to the Mall of America. Since Kaylie loves to shop we thought it would be a great trip and mommy and daddy could get a little Christmas shopping done...yes I know I am always way ahead of schedule with this.

We left on Friday morning and made our way up there. Kaylie did awesome in the car, sleeping about half of the way. We made great time and got up there right around lunch time. We got checked and decided to head to the Mall. We did a little looking around and then grabbed some lunch. We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping. That night we went swimming with Melissa and the girls. Kaylie loved it, she is really a water baby. She would stay in her baths all night if we let her. We then ordered dinner in and it was time for the kids to go to bed. We figured Kaylie would be okay in her pack-n-play because she had been sleeping all week in it because we were having some work done on the house. But she only slept a few hours and then woke up crying. We finally got her to go to sleep with us in the bed, against everything that I ever wanted to do. And she woke up a few more times, but went straight back to bed.

Saturday, we started with breakfast at the hotel and Zach, Kaylie, Dennis & Luke drove to the mall and Melissa, Katelyn, Elizabeth and I took the shuttle there. We got there and heard that Saturdays they have a free family flick at the theater so we decided to go. This was Kaylie's first movie and she loved it. It was It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown so it was really short, but she did great. We then decided to do a little shopping, we had to make a stop at the new Disney Store because it was their grand opening that day. I wasn't impressed because I
thought the old store was bigger and much less crowded. We did lunch at the mall and then did a little more shopping. We decided to go back in the middle of the afternoon so relax and go to the pool again. Luke joined us this time, he wasn't quite sure, but I'm sure next summer Kaylie and him will be swimming like crazy. We all then went back to the Mall to eat at one of our favorite Bubba Gump's. The girls then wanted to go on the Rides so we went down there for a little bit but Kaylie got tired so the three of us headed back. Again we had another horrible night, and we even thought about leaving. Kaylie was up from 11:30 p.m.-1 :30 a.m. We finally got her back to sleep and we got up and had breakfast. We left early because  Zach had to get back to coach his last two soccer games. It was a fun time, but we think we will be waiting on the hotel for a little bit.

On to Halloween, it wasn't real exciting since we couldn't go trick or treating yet. We did go over to Grandma & Grandpa Boe's and pass out candy. I think Kaylie had lots of fun because she got to see all the kids. Next year, we can't wait to take our little girl treat-or-treating.

Our Little Angel is 7 Months Old!

Getting ready for Christmas!
Movement: We are now army crawling everywhere. She is pretty quick now. You have to watch her very carefully because one minute she is one place and the next she is somewhere else. It is a lot of fun, but she is getting into lots of trouble too.  As you can see by the picture, if I wasn't paying attention she would have gotten into those presents.

Eating: She is still eating 1 fruit and 1 veggie. She has finally started to eat baby food at daycare which has been good because then we know that she is getting baby food. She has started eating some table food like cooked carrots, mashed potatoes, rice & yogurt. So far she has loved everything that she has tried.

Teeth: No teeth, but we think she is teething.

Sleep: This month is going much better. She is usually sleeping from 8:30 p.m. until 6:30-7:00 a.m. We have started to give her a bath every night to give her more of a routine. It seems to be helping a little, but some times her teething seems to be bothering her. Hopefully, we will keep getting better.

Voice: We are the chatty catty. We love listening to her; she is quite funny. Yesterday, she was giggling at my parent's dog Rocky. It is the great thing to listen to.

Favorites: Her little people is one of her favorite things. Shopping, she loves to shop. It seems like she is always happy when we are shopping. She now sits in the cart all by herself; which is funny because she loves to just chill. She leans back and puts her feet up.

Diaper Size: Size 2 during the day still and Size 3 during the night.

Clothes Size: 3-6 months & some 6-9 months

Nicknames: Bug a boo, Daddy's girl and Miss Kaylie

Other Fun Things We Did This Month:

Went to the Zoo for the First Time: Daddy had to work in Davenport one Sunday so we decided to go down with him and visit our friends Susan & John. Susan, Kaylie and I decided that it was a beautiful day and we should go to the Zoo. Kaylie seemed to love it, she could see some of the animals and she loves to be outside. Mommy had a great time too because she loves animals especially the big kitties.

Susan & Kaylie at the Zoo
Our First Cancer Walk: Mommy and Kaylie went down to Cedar Rapids on a Saturday night and stayed with my sister and her family. We then went to the Especially For You walk with Melissa & Luke. Although it was pretty cold we had lots of fun and it didn't seem like a 5K. The babies got lots of awws because people thought they were cute. Someone even thought they were twins...ha!

Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
